The Faculty of Business International Business Cohort held the 2017/18 English Speaking Contest on 7th March. Professor Priscilla Roberts, Course Coordinator of International Business Cohort, FOB, and Professor Fong Kwong Yee, Course Coordinator of the BBA Programme, were invited to be the judges of this contest.
Nine teams, all the 1st and 2nd years of International Business Cohort students, focused on the topic of Boa Vista Macau (The good Life in Macau) as a subject for entrepreneurship. Their entries described business opportunities in tourism, food, cosmetics, herbal cuisine, electronic payments, and the Internet Café industry. The teams of speakers presented their business plans, financial budgets and marketing strategies, using imaginative power points to back up their verbal presentations. Following each team’s presentation, students in the audience asked questions about its strong and weak points. The teachers praised all the students involved for their great efforts and outstanding performances.
Five teams from this contest have been selected to take part in the Macau finals of the Asia Pacific Communication Exchange Association’s 8th Business Presentation Contest, to be held at the University of Macau later in March. This is the first time that any teams from City University of Macau have taken part in this competition. We wish all of them the very best of luck.
