On November 2, 2017, 45 students majoring in Applied Economics were given a tour of Shenzhen RabbitPre, Shenzhen Emperor Technology and X-Space International Youth Crew, accompanied by Associate Professor Lou Shiyan and Assistant Professor Lin Deqin.

Their first stop was Shenzhen RabbitPre, a big data-driven technology company founded in 2014. The main purpose of the visit was to discover how the company had succeeded in achieving such rapid growth in scale in just 3 years.

Despite arriving during the break time for staff, the students received an enthusiastic welcome from Marketing Director Chen Xuli and Corporate Culture manager Ling Sisi. Director Chen introduced the development of the company to the students and described how the company used modern technology to gain a competitive advantage. Furthermore, Director Chen, a former manager of the Human Resources department, also gave students advice on how to prepare for employment.

Following their visit to Shenzhen RabbitPre, the students were taken to the Shenzhen Emperor Technology by Wang Wen, Secretary of Shenzhen Youth Science and Technology Talent Association.

Shenzhen Emperor Technology is a state-level technology enterprise founded in 1995. Peng Defang, the General Manager of Marketing and Product planning Center, warmly received the professors and students. Mr. Peng first showed the students several pieces of advanced equipment, such as an electronic passport production line system, a social security card self-service machine and other advanced card manufacturing equipment. Secondly, he analyzed future trends in the card manufacturing industry. All the students gasped with admiration at the company’s achievements in science and technology.

Their final stop was X-space International Youth Crew, a platform that helps overseas students and senior intellectuals to start businesses in Shenzhen. The Project Director, Lin Xuemei, explained the policies of X-space and showed the students how to obtain a government subsidy.

The students found their visit very fruitful and hope there will be more activities of this kind in the future.
