FOB Co-organizes CGMA Academic Elite Program with AICP│CIMA

In 2014, the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China published a new announcement on fully promoting the establishment of Management Accounting Systems, which gave new prominence to what had until been a relatively minor issue.  Since then, experts in academia and industry have reached a consensus on the development and importance of Management Accounting. In August 2016, the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA│CIMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with FOB to on the collaborative establishment and promotion as a subject of Management Accounting. In July 2017, they upgraded this collaboration with the objective of organizing the research activities of academic talents to facilitate exchanges and sharing. This activity attracted the participation of numerous academic talents from local higher education institutions and those beyond, from Mainland China and Mongolia.

 

Prof. Kong Fanqing, Vice Rector of City University of Macau, delivered a welcoming address highlighting the development of finance with special characteristics in Macao, and the way in which Management Accounting represents and indispensable part of the development of local talents. The current series of activities has gathered together experts and talents in Accounting from across North Asia, who can exchange ideas and learn from each other. It represents a brand new page in the development of Macao Finance with Special Characteristics.

 

Ms. Li Ying, President of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants North-Asia, warmly welcomed the academic talents who were participating in this project, and anticipated that all of them would gain a great deal from the six days of these activities, especially in terms of education in Management Accounting and the associated Case Studies.

 

Mr. Adrian Sims, an international top lecturer from CGMA, with over 20 years of experience in education in Management Accounting, and special expertise in case analysis, was invited to lead the teaching of these academic activities.
