On 8th July, the Faculty of Business of the City University of Macau held a briefing session on the International Business Cohort at the FOB Experiential and Entrepreneurial Practice-based Guangzhou Circle. Prof. Kong Fanqing, Vice Rector of CityU; Dr. Eva Khong, Executive Associate Dean of FOB; Mr. Fong Kwong Yee, BBA Programme Coordinator; Dr. Sammy Leung, FOB teacher; Mr. Zhou Chun, a representative from the Admissions Office; and outstanding FOB alumni participated in the session, sharing information with parents and students from Guangdong, Sichuan, Hainan, Yunnan and other provinces and cities.
Prof. Kong welcomed all the parents and students, and opened the briefing session with an overview of the CityU campus and facilities and the fabulous activities they support. Prof. Kong explained that CityU has made great efforts to offer excellent learning and teaching resources for the International Business Cohort. CityU provides numerous scholarships and sponsorships to encourage students. Dr. Khong described recent developments in the Faculty of Business, including academic seminars, overseas exchanges, visits to enterprises, and Experiential and Entrepreneurial Practice-based and group activities. These encourage students to study and work together. The International Business Cohort, which is the elite of the Bachelor of Business Administration, is taught in English, in small classes, and develops students’ global vision. Dr. Khong remarked that, in addition to the normal activities in the university and the faculty, the International Business Cohort receives special specific training, intended to improves students’ abilities in team-building, leadership, entrepreneurship and other specializations. Their teachers will also undertake research studies with the students, to boost their academic and general abilities. This training is designed to make the students experts in business and management.
Mr. Fong Kwong Yee and Dr. Sammy Leung then spoke on recent developments in the FOB and the International Business Cohort, answering questions from parents and students. Dr. Li Zhiping, an outstanding FOB alumnus, shared his study experiences and had an in-depth exchange with the parents and students, whose active enquiries demonstrated their eager interest in CityU, the FOB and the International Business Cohort. Those attending obtain much useful information from the briefing session, which provided good preparation for admission. The session ended happily on all sides.
The International Business Cohort is still currently accepting applications for admission. All students, whether local, from Mainland China, or overseas, are welcome to apply.
