Faculty of Business recently held an innovative "I Am Ready" career development workshop for second-year students enrolled in the English-taught Bachelor of Business Administration programme.
The workshop was facilitated by Assistant Professor Pinto and Senior Lecturer WeiWei Seah, integrating two key methodologies to equip students with essential tools for career planning: the LEGO® Serious Play® evolution process and the Personal Business Model Canvas.
Using LEGO® bricks, students built three-dimensional metaphorical models to visualise their current academic journey and future career aspirations. Through hands-on construction and peer sharing, they were able to explore and clarify their assumptions about their career paths.
Subsequently, students adopted the perspectives of both students and professionals to articulate their emerging value propositions using the Personal Business Model Canvas. They identified key resources, potential target groups, and career opportunities. This business model thinking approach helped students understand how to create and deliver value in their future careers.
