In order to enhance thesis writing skills and facilitate scientific research achievements of postgraduate students, Faculty of Business and Asia-Pacific Business Research Centre conducted an offline workshop on 11 May, lectured by Dr. Tang Yuk Ming from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). The topic “PRACTICAL RESEARCH METHODS AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS” introduced applications on SPSS.
The various qualitive and quantitative research methods were demonstrated step by step for students on their primary data comparison as well as several cases were analyzed to show how to handle SPSS. Moreover, Students joined the group work with data analyzing and reporting. In the end, Dr. Tang concluded the difficulties in their work and offered the relevant solutions. The lecture has sparked conversations among the audience.
Dr. TANG YUK MING
Dr. Tang received his B.Sc. and M.Phil. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the same university. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Medicine at CUHK after graduation. Currently, he serves as a senior teaching fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). His research interests include computational simulation, computer graphics, computer-aided design, finite element modelling, healthcare applications. He is also an editor/ guest editor of numerous renowned journals such as the Journal of Computer-aided Design, Annals of Biomedical engineering, etc.
