A City University of Macau team won the second prize in the Macao University Entrepreneurship competition held on November 29, 2017. Their entry was an activity sponsored by the CUM Postgraduate Association (CUMPA) Innovation and Creativity series. The winning proposal, “City University of Macau Ren-RenPai Cloud Service Platform Project”, was developed by a team that included one Advisor, Associate Professor Yu Weizheng, six PhD students in Business Administration, and a non-university external backbone member.

Ren-RenPai Cloud Service Platform uses Internet Thinking, Mobile Internet, Big Data and other technologies to provide cloud services offering an integrated platform for the automobile industry, including marketing new cars and accessories, after-sales care, and other services. The platform's design stemmed from the operational experience of group leader Gu Nailin when he started his own business in 2011.  After lengthy discussions and modifications, the platform was submitted for preliminary assessment and selected to go forward to the finals.

During the final presentation, Geng Chuan, the speaker, introduced the project in detail, winning great interest from the judges. Drawing on years of practical experience in pioneering the second-hand car market, the leader, Gu Nailin, gave brief and to the point answers to questions from the judges, obtaining positive feedback from those present. Finally, the team was awarded second prize in the competition.

The team members said they would treasure the experience of the competition, and continue to demonstrate the entrepreneurial outlook of the Faculty of Business. Moreover, they plan to refine and strive to implement their project, by attracting venture capital to make their dreams a reality.
