The Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Australia (CMA Australia) was officially incorporated in 1996. Its objectives are to provide a professional organization for management accountants, and to encourage, disseminate and promote the management accounting specialization across organizations.

 

The Institute has 17 offices and branches in Australia and globally including Hong Long, China, Macau, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Europe, Dubai and Africa. These branches and centers serve as the hub for member services in the region, as well as cores for future development and discussion of the profession and servicing 4,000 members globally.

 

The Hong Kong Branch was established in 2010 with the mission to provide professional education for members and students to meet business needs in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Over the past 4 years, the Hong Kong Office has successfully conducted membership activities, arranged Masters and Doctorate degree program pathways for members; provided comments to relevant Government departments; enhanced relationships with other professional bodies and supported community service activities.

 

The Faculty of Business (FOB) of City University of Macau and CMAHK signed an Agreement on 30th August, 2016. It is agreed graduates of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Programme, Master of Business Administration Programme and Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme (subject to meeting specific educational requirements of CMA Australia through the selection of subjects in the above programme(s)) are exempted from 16 units of the ICMA professional examination, and may apply for the ICMA designation of Graduate Management Accountant (GMA).

Subject 1. Strategic Cost Management (12 hours)

Subject 2. Strategic Business Analysis (12 hours)

 

With the completion of the remaining 2 units of the ICMA professional examination, namely the CMA Program, and complete examination of the 2 units, graduates may apply for ICMA’s pinnacle qualification of Certified Management Accountant (CMA) upon satisfying all work experience requirements of the ICMA.
