On 13 January 2026, the Faculty of Business of City University of Macau held a workshop titled "From Macao to the World: Global Job Search Strategies and Career Development Map for Financial Management". This workshop was delivered by Dr. Zijia Huang, assistant professor of the Faculty of Business, focusing on talent training and career planning in the field of finance, and building a professional bridge for students to connect with the global workplace.
This workshop closely follows the industry trend of artificial intelligence and big data reshaping the financial industry, with a focus on career development for financial management students and sharing the unique characteristics of Macao students. Dr. Zijia Huang proposed in the workshop that financial talents need to build a "Golden Triangle" capability model in the context of digital intelligence, that is, integrating business insight, data analysis capabilities, and financial professional capabilities, which has become the core support for students to break through the bottleneck of career development and gain a foothold on the international stage. Dr. Huang also proposed five golden tracks for future finance, specifically cross-border finance and compliance management, minor-language regional financial professionals, health industry financial operations, sustainable finance and ESG reporting, and intelligent financial system implementation, pointing out the career development direction of financial management students in the era of digital intelligence. At the same time, it also proposes finance-related Party B positions, combining its own research and practical experience, from the dimensions of career path planning, professional skill improvement, resume optimization, etc., to provide students with practical guidance on entering the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Mainland, and world-renowned enterprises, helping students draw a clear global career development blueprint.
The atmosphere of the workshop was warm, focusing on issues such as the improvement of digital and intelligent financial skills and the difficulties of cross-border job hunting. This workshop not only discussed the development direction of the financial profession in the era of digital intelligence, but also provided specific methods for professional learning and career planning, and was full of confidence in going out of Macao and connecting with the global workplace in the future.
The Faculty of Business has always been committed to focusing on the cultivation of professional talents and proposing important measures to meet the development needs of the industry. In the future, the faculty will continue to launch more academic and practical activities tailored to students' career development, helping young students in Macao demonstrate their professional values and realize their career aspirations in the global workplace.
