Macau, April 16, 2024 – The Faculty of Business at City University of Macau had the honor of hosting a distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Pietro Borsano, who is renowned for his expertise in entrepreneurship and business innovation in Southeast Asia. Dr. Borsano, who serves as the Deputy Executive Director (Industrial and Global Alliances) and senior lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Chulalongkorn University, delivered a compelling lecture on the burgeoning entrepreneurial landscape in Southeast Asia.

Titled “Navigating the Digital Frontier: Unlocking the Potential of ASEAN and Thailand’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem,” the talk took place at the university’s Ho Yin Convention Center and drew a large audience of students, faculty, and local entrepreneurs. Students were engaged in a discussion that covered the challenges and opportunities within the ASEAN region’s digital economy.

Dr. Borsano’s presentation highlighted the importance of innovation ecosystems, particularly in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), which focuses on industry, innovation, and infrastructure. He shared insights on how students and professionals in Thailand and across Southeast Asia are building networks to foster a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and corporate innovators.

With a background that includes affiliations with many prestigious universities, Dr. Borsano brought a global perspective to the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia. His role as an adviser to the Global Entrepreneurship Network in Thailand was also emphasized, showcasing his commitment to nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset through educational programs.

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, where Dr. Borsano answered questions and offered advice to aspiring students.
