International Business Cohort (IBC) Teams Take Part in Finals of 8th APCEA English-Speaking Contest, Macau, 17-18 March 2018

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

The Faculty of Business (FOB) is proud to announce that five teams of first- and second-year students from the International Business Cohort, organized and led by Professor Priscilla Roberts, the IBC programme’s Course Coordinator, were among the ten teams selected to take part in the 8th Macau/HK-wide Finals of the annual English-Speaking Contest sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Communication and Exchange Association.

Each team of students presented a business plan in some way related to the contest theme of “Boa Vista Macau.” This is the first year that any teams from the City University of Macau have taken part in this contest, which has been held in Macau since 2011.

The five CityU teams who took part in the Macau/HK Finals on Saturday, 17 March, held on the campus of the University of Macau, are:

  • Home Resort (Tina Wang Peilin, Julia Long Sitian, Stacey Li Qingnan, Kate Rong Kaiting), presenting Home Resort
  • LV (Attlee Xiong Xiao, Louis Ye Jiehui), presenting Glamping
  • Food Line (Daniel Ding Jairui, Felix Yan Yifeng, Kim Huang Ziqi, Ryusa Duan Yaxin) presenting Food Line
  • Houston Rockets (Cynthia Ye Yingshi, Tricia Feng Quewen, Andy Zhao Guandi, Sam Wang Yusong), presenting Zero Cosmetics
  • SHR (Sailor Shi Chunle, Hailey Hua Xuan, Rain Zhou Yuqi), presenting Herbal Cuisine

All delivered outstanding and lively presentations, which were praised by the judges, Dr. Peter Jacubowicz, Vice President of APCEA; Dr. Javier Calero Cuervo of the Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau; and Ms. Lydia Yang, Asia Business Development Manager at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, Hong Kong. The judges also suggested how each team might improve its performance in future. Each team received a certificate.

We are particularly proud and happy that one CityU team, Food Line (members Daniel Ding Jairui, Felix Yan Yifeng, Kim Huang Ziqi, and Ryusa Duan Yaxin), was one of three in the Macau/HK Finals selected to take part in the Grand Finals, held at the University of Macau on 18 March 2018. Six teams, three from Macau/HK, two from Zhuhai, and one from Penang, delivered presentations. Food Line received a Participation Prize of MOP 800, together with a certificate.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!
